ASCND is run by Harley James Auer, a sole trader trading as ASCND, based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you use the ASCND website at tryascnd.app and the ASCND app. You can reach us at support@tryascnd.app.
We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration reference C1972030.
This policy covers the ASCND website, the waitlist, and the ASCND app. If we introduce new ways of using your data, we will update this policy first.
Account data. When you create an account we collect your email address (your login, and how we reach you about your account) and your name (used to address you in the app and in your results). We also hold the account identifier our database assigns you (a Supabase user ID), which is how your data is kept separate from everyone else's. Our legal basis is providing the service you signed up for.
Training profile. To build your plan and calibrate your score we collect the details you enter: height, weight, training level, goals, training days per week, and available equipment. These are used to generate your training plan and to put your scan in context. Our legal basis is providing the service.
Gender. We collect your gender and use it for one purpose: scoring calibration, so your physique is read against the right reference standards. We treat this as sensitive information, and it is declared as such in our App Store privacy labels. We process it with your consent, given when you enter it.
Scans. When you run a scan, the photos you choose to submit are processed to produce your score. Photos are sent inside the scan request, analysed, and never stored, by us or anywhere in ASCND's systems. We keep your scores, per-part results, and scan history so your progress over time works.
Training history. We keep the workouts you log and your training plan so the app can track your consistency and adapt your plan.
Age. We keep a single yes/no confirmation that you are 18 or over. We do not store your date of birth.
The waitlist. If you joined the waitlist we collect your email address, which sign-up point you used, and the date you joined, to email you about ASCND. Our legal basis is your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Technical data. Our hosting and content delivery providers record standard technical information such as IP address and request logs to keep the service secure and available. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in security and reliable delivery.
The website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Our content delivery provider may set strictly necessary cookies for security, which do not require your consent. Because we set no non-essential cookies, the site shows no cookie banner. If we add analytics in future, we will use a privacy-friendly method and update this policy.
We do not sell your personal data, and we never share your email address with third parties for their own marketing. Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom, and where they do, appropriate safeguards apply.
Photos: never stored. They exist only inside the scan request and are gone once your score is produced.
Scan results and training history: kept until you delete your account, so your progress over time works. Delete your account and this data goes with it.
Account and profile data: kept while your account is active, deleted when your account is deleted.
Anthropic's processing copy: retained by Anthropic for up to 30 days under its commercial terms, then deleted. This is separate from ASCND's own storage, which never holds your photos at all.
Waitlist email: until you ask to be removed, or until you become an ASCND user. If you have not become a user within 12 months of launch, we delete your waitlist email.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, ask for it to be transferred, and withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email support@tryascnd.app. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email support@tryascnd.app and we will remove you from the list.
ASCND is for adults aged 18 and over, enforced by an age gate in the app before any scan. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
We use reputable providers, limit access to your data, and keep only what we need. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
We may update this policy as ASCND develops. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. For material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
